Movie magic helps spread awareness
JVS is bringing awareness to Kansas City about refugee and immigrant issues through the Crossroads Film Festival. Join us for "Sim Nombre," a film by Cary Joji Fukunaga on March 10th.
The film series takes place at the Screenland Theater Crossroads, 1656 Washington, Kansas City, Missouri. All screenings are free and open to the public. There will be an optional "donation ticket" at the door with a raffle drawing for those that donate. Doors open at 6 p.m., all films start at 7 p.m.

VISTA volunteers enrich JVS
JVS has received a big helping hand from two very dedicated AMERICORPS / VISTA volunteers - Safiye Manguoglu and EugeneMorenas. Thanks to a successful grant application, these two individuals came on board to help JVS implement a new database and assist with fund raising. Both jumped right in and are making great strides at JVS.

Hilary Cohen Singer joins JVS  Kansas City native Hilary Cohen Singer has joined JVS as associate executive director to assist with management, fund development and accountability systems to help the agency operate more effectively and efficiently. JVS received a grant from the Hall Family Foundation to fund Singer's position.Currently, Singer is focused on internal management systems, data collection and reporting. She's also has some direct program responsibilities, including supervising the Jewish Employment Services, a partnership program with Jewish Family Services. |
